The Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD 2TB (model number: SA2000CM10003) is a SATA II 2.5-inch internal drive with a capacity of 2 terabytes. Here are some pros and cons that can help you make an informed decision about purchasing this SSD.
Pros:1. Capacity: This SSD offers a large storage capacity of 2TB, which is ideal for users who need ample space for their files, games, and applications.
2. SSD Technology: SSDs offer several advantages over traditional HDDs. They provide faster read and write speeds, have no moving parts, and are more durable and reliable.
3. SATA II Interface: The SATA II interface is widely supported by most modern computers and allows for decent transfer speeds.
4. Affordable: Compared to other 2TB SSDs on the market, the Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD 2TB is relatively affordable.
5. 3-Year Warranty: Seagate offers a three-year warranty for this SSD, providing peace of mind for customers.
Cons:1. SATA II Interface: Although the SATA II interface is widely supported, it is not the latest technology, and newer NVMe SSDs offer much faster transfer speeds.
2. Performance: The Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD 2TB has decent read and write speeds, but it is not the fastest SSD on the market.
3. Endurance: SSDs have a finite number of write cycles before they start to degrade. This SSD has a rated endurance of 300 terabytes written (TBW), which may not be sufficient for power users or heavy workloads.
Conclusion:The Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD 2TB is a decent option for users who need a large storage capacity, prefer SATA II interface, and have a budget to consider. It offers faster read and write speeds compared to HDDs, and the three-year warranty adds peace of mind. However, it is not the fastest SSD on the market and may not be suitable for power users or heavy workloads.
Recommendation:If you are looking for a large-capacity SSD with a decent price point and prefer a SATA II interface, the Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD 2TB is a solid choice. However, if you require faster transfer speeds and can afford a higher price point, consider investing in an NVMe SSD.
Was taken out of my PS4 Pro. This SSD works perfectly fine as showed connected to my laptop. Installed it 4 yrs ago. Recently sold my ps4 pro towards getting a PS5 which don't use SATA III SSD.
So looking to sell this one hoping get me a 2 TB M.2 with these HIGH ram and hard drive prices going around.
