As a result of the drive dropping out of the raid the smart status for drive 2 went from good to normal. I would recommend at least level 5 but if you do you'd have a 6tb volume. You can format the drives as raid 0, 1, 5 or 6.

This offer is for a used Qnap TS-439 pro 4 bay nas with 5 This is why I bought the spare drive, in case the drive died but it never did. 5tb drive one drive is a shelf spare. Drive number two dropped out of the raid about a month after I got the system and started to rebuild itself.

With that said you might want to rebuild the raid with the spare drive, just depends how comfortable you are. Shipping is via ups ground. The spare drive is new in the box, never opened. It successfully rebuilt the raid and has been fine for the last couple years.

I keep good backups so I wan't worried about it.
