Power down, replace the defective one. It was usually turned off. It has sync capability to back itself up to an sync enabled device such as another readynas unit.

This unit maxes out with two 2tb drives installed for a total storage capacity of 4tb. This item is little used.

This listing does not include hard drives. The unit is in excellent physical condition. With raid mirroring, one drive can fail and the unit will still operate. That gives you 4tb standard or 2tb of raid mirrored storage.
